am-utils software package provides automounter utilities from 4.4BSD (includes amd), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install am-utils
am-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the am-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep am-utils *
You will get with am-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
